Connect Mercopilot to Gemini

Mercopilot is an MCP server for Gemini that turns Shopify insight into revenue actions. Add it once, and you can ask Gemini about your store — what's selling, where you're losing sales, what to fix — in any conversation. No dashboard, no exports, nothing to install.

  • About 3 minutes
  • Needs Gemini Spark (US, 18+)
  • No API key needed

Before you start

  • A Mercopilot account with your Shopify store connected. One subscription covers everything on this page — there is no upgrade or add-on that unlocks the connector. Connect your store first
  • A personal Google Account eligible for Gemini Spark — 18 or over, in the US, and signed in outside a work or school account. Custom connections are not available on those yet.
  • Keep Activity turned on in your Google Account. Gemini can't reach a custom app while it's off.

The address you'll need

Wherever Gemini asks for an MCP server URL, this is it. Copy it now — it's the same for every store, and it's the only thing you have to paste.

MCP server URL
https://api.mercopilot.com/mcp

There's no API key to generate. Mercopilot uses the OAuth 2.1 Authorization Code Flow with PKCE — Gemini signs in the same way you do, and you approve the connection in your browser.

  1. Turn on Keep Activity

Gemini Spark — the part of Gemini that can reach a custom MCP server — refuses to connect to one while this setting is off. In the Gemini app or on gemini.google.com, go to Settings & helpActivity, and turn Keep Activity on.

Skip this if it's already on — most accounts have it on by default.

  2. Open Connected Apps

On gemini.google.com, click Settings & help, then Connected Apps. This is a web-only setting — you add a connection there, and it follows you to the Gemini mobile app once it's added.

  3. Add Mercopilot by URL

Click Add custom app, name it Mercopilot, and paste the address into the MCP server URL field:

    MCP server URL
    https://api.mercopilot.com/mcp

Leave the credentials fields under Advanced features blank and click Next. Mercopilot supports Dynamic Client Registration, so Gemini registers itself automatically — those fields are only for servers that hand out a client ID and secret by hand.

  4. Sign in and approve

A Mercopilot window opens. Sign in with your passkey or Google, pick the store you want Gemini to work on, and click Authorize.

You can withdraw that approval at any time from your account page, and remove the connection from Gemini's side under Connected Apps.

  5. Use it in Gemini Spark

Mercopilot only answers inside Gemini Spark, not a plain Gemini chat. Open Spark, and Mercopilot is available as a connected app for that conversation — no separate toggle to remember once it's added.

Try it

Ask in plain English, in Gemini Spark:

  • “Using Mercopilot, how is my store doing this month?”

  • “Ask Mercopilot where I am losing money.”

  • “Use Mercopilot to tell me what to do next to grow revenue.”

  • “With Mercopilot, which slow sellers should I discount and by how much?”

Gemini shows you the tool it wants to run and the values it's passing before it runs it. Anything that changes your store — a price, a title, stock, a discount — needs your confirmation. See the full loop

If something goes wrong

There's no Connected Apps option in Settings & help
That means your account is not yet eligible for Gemini Spark — it currently needs a personal Google Account, age 18 or over, in the US. This is Google's rollout, not something Mercopilot controls, and the option appears on its own once your account qualifies.
Adding the app fails, or it says the server doesn't respond
Almost always the URL. It has to be the full address ending in /mcp, over https, with no trailing slash. Paste it again from the block above rather than retyping it.
Gemini ignores it, or a plain chat never mentions it
Custom connected apps only work inside Gemini Spark, not a regular Gemini conversation. Open Spark and ask there — a normal chat has no way to reach Mercopilot at all.
It asks you to sign in again
Access expires periodically, and signing out of Mercopilot everywhere ends it immediately. Open Connected Apps, remove Mercopilot, and add it again — you keep your connected store.
It replies that there are no stores on your account
The connection worked but there is nothing behind it yet. Connect Shopify from your dashboard, then ask again — no need to redo any of the steps above.
You want to disconnect
Remove Mercopilot from Connected Apps in Gemini settings, and withdraw the approval from your Mercopilot account page if you want to end the session on our side too.

Stop asking “how many orders did I get?” Start asking what to fix first

Connect Shopify and Google Ads and see where the money is going — the best seller about to run out, the stock that has stopped moving, the search terms you pay for that never sell. Every fix comes with what it's worth, and getting it done is one word away.

  • See the biggest wins first
  • Finds it, then fixes it for you
  • Catch lost sales before they happen
